Things are moving forward!
We are excited to announce that our jury session for this years show went seamlessly. It was a beautiful day at Fort Mason Center with nearly twenty incredible women to help jury nearly 300 artists. These inspirational women, come from near and far to support the show and its integrity. The sun was shinning and we had a lovely view of the water, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Just a beautiful reminder of how lucky we are to have this event at such an incredible location.
The talented artists who applied this year made the process difficult. We print out every picture we’re given and compare artists among their category peers. Dotty Calabrese our long time guardian of the guidelines is an amazing facilitator. Learning how to be decisive is not always an easy tasks for artists who really do see ‘shades of grey’ and as always there can be much debate. Dotty and the rest of the committee were terrific at guiding the process towards consensus. The tone of the day was full of gratitude and respect for everyone who applied. Regardless of the acceptance outcome, the effort made on behalf of everyone helps confirm our belief in that the world is full of exceptional women.
A special thanks to our 2012 Jury members that took time to work with us;
Deanna De Chauron
Lawan Angelique Jackson
A big thank you to all of the artists that applied, we will be sending out acceptance
emails this week.
