Community Programs Support

The Women’s Building (TWB) is a women-led community space that advocates self-determination, gender equality, and social justice. We provide services and programs to empower women, house a variety of non-profit organizations, and have meeting spaces for rent.

The Community Resource Room (CRR) provides assistance to hundreds of visitors each year who call or come to The Women’s Building seeking information, services, and referrals to address a need in their life. We offer information and referralsaccess to technology, job search assistance, legal aid, public benefits screening, free tax preparation, an immigrant food pantry, and host a variety of workshops.

General Program Duties and Responsibilities: 

Support the programs:

  • Facilitate day-to-day operations on-site (opening and/or closing shifts, phone calls, voicemail, confirmation of appointments) and/or online. Maintain the Community Resource Room as a welcoming place to people of diverse backgrounds
  • Keep a current database of information about local resources for the community
  • Answering the phone, taking external communications through RingCentral and direct them to the correct staff, or assigning them to a resource clinic appt. 
  • Assist with scheduling of appointments for our different programs including but not limited to Resource Clinic, Immigration Clinic, Civil Clinic, CalFresh, and SmartMoney Coaching
  • Check and respond to CRR email and forward messages to appropriate staff
  • Assist with record-keeping and data collection through Salesforce and Google Docs

Work the clinic 8-12 hours per week on-site and be present at all community events and clinics

Outreach Efforts:

  • Create, update and prepare promotional material such as brochures, calendars, flyers, letters, and schedules to publicize CRR programs and services as well as organize information for bulletin boards and Front Desk, as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Fully Vaccinated
  • Full-Time availability Mon-Friday (40 hours)
  • On-site work 
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • High School required
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Computer Fluency (Microsoft Word and basic Excel, Google search and Email Navigation)
  • Punctual, reliable, and highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Cultural competence in working with diverse populations, including communities of color, immigrants, LGBT communities, and persons of various ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, homeless and commitment to social justice and anti-racism work.
  • Previous non-profit experience preferred
  • Customer service or Reception experience preferred

Salary:
$22/hour

Job schedule:
Monday-Friday 8 hrs/day – 40 hrs/wk
