Voting during COVID-19 Pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has presented an obstacle for many to go out and vote in person for this years presidential election. Many people are worried and they have the right to be. You can still participate in the political process and stay safe. Here are ways to do so.
Vote my mail
On June 18,2020 Governor Newsom signed assembly Bill 860,which requires CA counties to mail ballots to all registered voters for the November 3,2020 general elections. If you are already register just remember to check your registration status and update any changes with your address.

Vote Early
Early voting allows you to cast your vote in person when there are fewer crowds and lines. Some counties offer early voting at a few locations before election day. County contact information can be found by visiting the Secretary of state website
San Francisco will have ballot drop-off stations opened as follows
Mon- Fri Oct 5-Nov 3 Ι Sat-Sun Oct 24-25 and Oct 31- Nov 1
- Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, 99 Grove St.
Sat-Sun Oct 31-Nov 1 Ι Mon-Tues Nov 2-3
- Bayview/Linda Brooks-Burton Library, 5075 3rd St
- Case Center 1655 3rd St.
- Excelsior Branch Library, 4400 Mission St.
Drop-off station hours
- Weekdays 8am-5pm
- Weekends 10am-4pm
- Election Day 7am-8pm

Eligibility Requirements to Vote
You Must be a U.S citizen to vote in federal,state, or local elections
You can vote in U.S elections if you:
- Are a U.S citizen and resident of California
- Are 18 years old on or before election day ( In the state of CA you can pre-register at 16 & 17 years old. Youth who pre-register to vote will have their registration become active once they turn 18 years old)
You cannot vote in U.S elections if you:
- Are not a citizen, including permanent legal residents
- Not currently in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony
- Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court
California Requirements for Voting in Person
You do not need to show ID when you vote in person
Unless: it is your first time voting in a federal election in California. A federal election is when you vote for the President, your congressional representative or your senators.
