Essential Memory: Helping children find a home in the United States

Remembering Carmen Vázquez, the first founding director of the Women’s Building.

On January 13th we remember Latina gender justice activist Carmen Vázquez, born #OTD in 1949. She spent her life advocating for the rights & dignity of #LGBTQIA+ people, immigrants, & elders. She passed in 2021 from COVID-19. Her legacy lives through The Women’s Building. By Mission Local.
